History
•The University of Buckingham admitted its first students in the year 1976 and now has 1,500 students from more than 80 different countries.
•It is unique amongst British universities, does not receive any no state funding and using its independence to pioneer a distinctive approach to higher education.

•Considerable research grants have been secured for obesity, diabetes, and cancer, and research in applied education policy, computing, and law.
•Research-generated income represented over 10 per cent of the university's turnover last year.

•The internet access in every bed room and the halls of residence.

Sport
•The annual Chancellor's Cup is contested among the University's Schools. There are regular individual and team competitions.
•The University has its own running club and a football team taking part in the local league.
