History
•City University London was founded in the year 1894 as the Northampton Institute and was awarded University status in the year 1966.
•The motto is-to serve mankind. It is devoted to academic excellence, focused on business and professions and situateded in the heart of London.
Location and transport
•The University’s central campus and the location of its historic College Building are both in the Northampton Square in Islington.
•City is close to King’s Cross, Liverpool Street, St Pancras and London Bridge mainline stations. Its main sites are within walking distance of Barbican, Farringdon, Angel, Old Street and Moorgate underground stations.

Students' union
