Calculate the confidence intervals about a regression line. My data is log transformed and has high R-square value for what is called "power" equation in Excel. My CI's are narrow at the top of the graph and very wide near the bottom. Can I use the "standard" method used to calculate CI about a linear regression curve for the log transformed data and apply it to the power equation? My CI calculation used is
CI = t*SYX*SQRT(1/n+(X-XAVG)^2/SS
When I have a CI envelope that is narrow at top and very wide at the bottom of the regression line what does that mean?
Interestingly, when the R-square value is low the CI plots about the regression line make a much more "palatable" envelope. This may be because both the curves generated from linear and power equations have slopes and similar r-squares.
How would you find the normal approximation to the binomial probability P(x = 5) in part A? Please show how you would calculate u and standard deviation in the formula for the normal approximation to the binomial
In 1851 there were 25,466 nurses in Great Britain. Find the probability that a British nurse selected at random in 1851 would be 60 years or older. (My guess is The sum of the percent of nurses 60 years are older are added equaling 36% or 1967.76/2..
What is the probability that their average lifetime would be less than 510 hours? Use your calculator to solve this problem and give your answer as a number between 0 and 1, rounded to 3 decimal places.
A computer system uses passwords constructed from the 26 letters (a to z) or 10 integers (0 to 9). Suppose there are 10000 users on the system with unique passwords. A hacker randomly selects (with replacement) passwords from the potential set.

The length of a Colorado brook trout is normally distributed. What is the probability that a brook trout's length:
Household with no children that is equal to the value obtained by the census. Give the z statistic (rounded to two decimal places) and the P-value. What do you conclude? (Use (alpha) = 0.10.) z = ? P-value =?
The goal is to get people thinking about how they can actually use correlation and regression in their real life, and where and how can they can really benefit from these techniques?
