Roadside memorials are those markers which represent the spot where a person died unexpectedly, usually in road accidents. These roadside memorials are mostly represented by flowers, bouquets, toys and signs and are known to cause distractions to visitors or tourists. This particular practice is known to have started in the early 1900s and as of 2003, about one fifth of all road accidents are known to have been marked as roadside memorials.
