A block rests on a spring and oscillates with a frequency of 4Hz and an amplitude of 7cm. A tiny bead is place on the top of the oscillating block just as it reaches its lowest point. Assume that the bead has no effect on the frequency or amplitude of the oscillation.

1.) At what displacement from the blocks equilibrium position does the bead first lose contact with the block?

2.) What is the speed of the bead at the instant when it loses contact with the block?
