The waiting time cost is incurred when there is a wait for the service before them. Therefore, this occurs fairly often. When looking at waiting time cost based on the waiting time in the system one example is, as one is waiting to talk to a help desk in an online chat. One has to wait for the previous people to have been helped as there are a limited number of experts helping people online. Another example is waiting to try on shoes in a department store. There are certain store workers helping to get the sizes, but there is a wait. They have to wait for a store worker helping someone else to be available. The third example is to checkout at a store. There is a wait for the cashier in order to pay and account for all items needed. When looking at the waiting time cost compared to the system cost, it would be something that is costing money while waiting. An example of this would be waiting in line at a gas station. It is costing people money to wait in line as their cars are on. The gas is being used and people may leave and go to another station.
