The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate your ability to compare and contrast research methodologies, and identify ethical requirements for research on typical and atypical young children from birth to age 8.

For this assignment, you must review and reflect upon these ethical guidelines: National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), Society for Research in Child Development (SRCD), and National Disability Authority (NDA) presented in your required readings and lesson narrative.

For this assignment you will:

Identify what you feel are the most important guidelines from each source. You must include at least six guidelines from each source that you feel are important when research is conducted with typical and atypical children.
You must also include a rationale for including the guideline, such as, "I think confidentiality is very important because if the public knew which child performed or reacted in a certain way, that might give the child a label and change the way people think about and interact with the child and family."
Finally, discuss any similarities you found among the various ethical guidelines.
