The preventive replacement cost of a motor is $5 and failure replacement is $8. The failure times of the motor is normally distributed failure with mean = 4 weeks and standard deviation = 1 week. The company would like to implement a block policy of replacing the motor every 1 or 2 weeks. Should the company replace the motor every week or every 2 weeks?
