The power output of an adiabatic steam turbine is 5.5 MW. At the inlet, P = 2.0 MPa and T = 435 °C. The steam enters the turbine with a velocity of 50 m/s. The elevation of the inlet is 15 m. At the exit, P = 15.2 kPa and the quality is 93.5 %. The two-phase saturated mixture leaves the turbine at a velocity of 180 m/s. The elevation of the turbine outlet is 8 m. Determine the work done per unit mass of the steam flowing through the turbine.
