The nurse just started the induction for her patient. The order was written for 5 miliunits/min of Pitocin IV then increase by 1 miliunit every 30 minutes. The pharmacy supplied the nurse with 30 Units of Pitocin added to 1/2 liter of Sodium Chloride.The practitioner inquires to the nurse, "how many mls/hr. do you have the IV Pitocin (Oyytocin) set at via the Infusion Pump?"
