Discussion: Under the 14th Amendment, one provision states that no state shall deny to any person the equal protections of the law. Today, the gay community is arguing that under this constitutional provision, they should have the right to legally marry given that heterosexual couples have the right to marry. If the gay community isn't allowed to marry, then the equal protection of the law is being denied.
