As a society, do we provide parolees and previous offenders with ample support and resources to prevent recidivism? Parole is a method by which an offender is released earlier than the full-sentence completion date. All states maintain differing "conditions" for parole and these "conditions" are used in lieu of a jail cell for the express purpose of controlling the offender's behavior. With this in mind, list five conditions that you would place on a parolee as a crime prevention tool. Briefly describe the effects on Crime Prevention these conditions would target. Based upon review of the readings, what issues need to be addressed with inmates to prepare them for reentry into society?
