Students will be required to write an8-10 page paper (excluding title and reference pages) utilizing a minimum of 12 scholarly sources using APA style (6thEdition) formatting. Choose a disease or health-related condition that is important to public health and discuss it from the point of view of epidemiology (risk factors and distribution of disease in the population), its biomedical basis, environmental factors, social and behavioral factors, biostatistics (kind of data collected and how it is used), and policy (what government (at all levels) is doing and what it should do).

2. Powerpoint in Malaria in Africa.

Post an original PowerPoint presentation that summarizes/highlights the research you completed for your research paper. The PowerPoint must include information on the topic from the point of view of each public health domain, be visually stimulating using graphics and pictures as appropriate, and include references both within the PowerPoint and a full citation on the last slide. The PowerPoint should be between 15-20 slides long. Please read the PowerPoints from all of your classmates as they will give you invaluable information on a variety of public health topics.
