Mr. Stephens is a veteran teacher with 13 years of experience in the Melita school district. He was transferred here from the middle school three years ago due to a boundary change.

Enclosed are copies fo his evaluation for the past two years. As you can see, Mr. Stephens has shown only slight improvement in one area and his performance is still not at an acceptable level. There continues to be an excessive number of parental complaints.

Mr. Stephens is aware of this request.

1. What are the steps you would take to assist a teacher who was having serious performance problems?
