A person of mass 75 kg stands at the center of a carousel of radius 3 m and moment of inertia 920 kgm2 . The platform is rotating at a rate of 2 rad/sec. Calculate the angular momentum of the person (who can be treated as a point mass) and the carousel. The person now walks toward the edgs of the carousel.

a) Calculate the new moment of inertia of the person.

b) If angular momentum is conserved, what is the angular velocity of the person-carousel system once the person reaches the edge?
