Opportunities:
Online training to employees along with saving the training record can help the employee go through the training program at any point in time as per convenience.
Software systems make it possible to create visual training programs that can help employees understand the teachings easily. These systems can also be used to record the training sessions for future reference.
Productivity Enhancement. The productivity of the company gets enhanced since better competent workforce is being hired, trained, and developed.
Cost reduction. Training and development provides opportunities to reduce manpower hiring cost and excess man power cost. Through training and development, every employee of the organization is being trained for multiple tasks and excess manpower dedicated to a particular task is removed.
Morale Boost. Training programs on regular basis also gives opportunities in enhancing the morale level of the employees of the organization.
Challenges:
The availability of all the team members at the same time. The larger the team size the more problematic it is. Since most training members may not be at the same location, computer or other devices.
Improving effectiveness of training: Selection or development of any training that is closely aligned with the improvement of job performance is very crucial to analyze return on training investments. Also, a cost-effective training program for the target audience is equally important.
Expanding library of contents and training programs: Continuous change in the skills requirements and development of new methods of delivering training programs have made it difficult to keep up with the ever increasing demand for corporate level assets. Hence, it becomes a big challenge for the HR department to expand the learning material of training being offered.
