Following are the assignment details.

Contemporary Issues in Tourism and Hospitality

Each student should write an essay as per the instructions given below.

• Write an essay on any one of the following topics:

1. The response of international tourism industry to economic and social globalization.

2. The impact of climate change on sustainable tourism (within a particular geographic area that you can select by yourself).

3. The role of innovation in increasing and enhancing tourism growth and the hospitality industry.

4. The role of community-based tourism in developing countries: a case study.

Your essay must be structured as follows:

Brief introduction - outlines the relevance/significance of the topic and your main arguments.

Analysis - includes a detailed discussion and analysis of the topic in relation to all the important aspects and its impact on international tourism.

Conclusion - logically summarizes your main points and concludes your arguments.

References - You are required to use at least 5 peer-reviewed of journal articles as well as other references.

Please note that your work will be evaluated on the basis of depth and extent of analysis and the level of your understanding and not on the amount of information that is presented. The work that does not include an acceptable level of analysis will be awarded a fail grade.

General instructions

Your work should be presented in a report format with effective layout for the headings and subsections in the report along with attention for grammar and punctuation.

1. Use font style Calibri; or Arial with font size 12 and 1.5 spacing.

2. Harvard referencing must be used. Inaccurate referencing/plagiarism will be strictly dealt with.

3. The written essay should have a minimum of 2000 words and should not exceed 2500 words, excluding the title page and references.

4. The written essay shall be submitted in the 12th week between 11th - 15th December 2016 (unless otherwise informed). Late submissions will be penalized.

5. Students may use journals, periodicals, magazines or links posted in different web sites for their researches.
