Assignment: Organizational and Governance Structures.

Written assignments

For the written assignments of the course, each student must select a case organization. The papers will include a theoretical framework of the assignment topic and the application of knowledge to the case organization.

1. Case Analysis. Provide a description of the case organization. Make sure to include: name, industry, short history, ownership, location, size, products/services, customer base/markets served, mission, vision, current strategic directions, general financial situation, and goals. Assess the organization's need for strategic planning. Analyze and make recommendations.

2. Stakeholder analysis. Identify at least two studies related to stakeholder theory and evaluate their relevance to an organization's stakeholder analysis. Perform a robust stakeholder analysis for your selected organization.

3. Organizational and governance structures. Compare and contrast two models of organizational structure and their effectiveness, based on recent research. Analyze the current organizational and governance structures of your organization or an organization of your choice.

4. Strategic governance plan and evaluation. Make strategic recommendations for the case organization. This could be your organization or an organization of your choice. Include yoursuggestions for goals, strategic approach, policies, and major actions. Determine potential implementation issues and ways to address them. Suggest the evaluation metrics to be used. Support your recommendations with evidence from the literature.This assignment could build on what was done in the assignment above.

1. Evaluate the competing values of different stakeholder groups.
2. Develop measurable objectives consistent with the organization's mission and stakeholder desires.
3. Create a strategic governance plan.
