Your assignment will be to watch 2 feature length films that follow the traditional hero's journey. Examples can be found here: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls055945505/
For each of your 2 selected movies, you must complete a full analysis of how the elements of the hero's journey are presented in the story, and how these elements contributed to the effectiveness of the narrative at holding your attention and engendering sympathy for the "hero."
You must also identify the transitions between Acts 1, 2 and 3, as described in the lecture slides regarding "Traditional 3 Act Structure." This may also require some independent research.
Your analysis should be submitted in essay form. Page length is 6 pages, double-spaced 12 pt Times New Roman font with 1 inch margins. No citations or outside research are required, but plagiarism will not be tolerated.
