A structural engineering system consists of four subcomponents. The stability of each subcomponent is statistically independent of the others. In any given hurricane event, the probability that any subcomponent is unstable is 0.006. The entire system is considered unstable if any one subcomponent is unstable. Find the probability that the entire structural system is stable (a) in any given hurricane event and (b) in five hurricane events.
