A spectrophotometric method for the quantitative determination of the concentration of Pb2+ in blood levels yields and Ssample of 0.19 for a 1.0 mL sample of blood that has been diluted to 5.0 mL. A second 1.0 mL sample is spiked with 2.0 microliters of a 1000 ppb Pb2+ standard and diluted to 5.0 mL, yielding an Sspike of 0.4. Determine the concentration of Pb2+ in the original sample of blood.
