Exercise
An airline is interested in selecting a software package for its reservation system. Even though the company would like to maximize use of its available seats, it prefers to bump as few passengers as possible. It has four software packages to choose from. The number of passengers bumped for each month for a given software package is shown in Table 12-39.

(a) Is there a difference in the software packages as measured by the mean number of passengers bumped? Test at the 5% level of significance.

(b) Find a 90% confidence interval for the mean number of passengers bumped using software package 2.

(c) Find a 95% confidence interval for the difference in the mean number of passengers bumped using software packages 1 and 2.Isthere a difference in their means at the 5% level of significance?
