Obesity is a metabolic disorder clinically presented with excess accumulation of fat over the body which leads to poor quality of life and increased health problems. In present case study, physical examination and biochemical testing represents Mr. C is suffering from obesity (Body mass index > 30) which is exposing him to number of risk factors like hypertension, Type II diabetes, atherosclerosis and many more. Further, Patient is at risk of coronary artery disease and other vascular disorders.

Bariatric surgery is the option for people who cannot lose weight by other means. A surgery is done on stomach or intestine that helps the patient to lose weight. The surgery restricts the amount of food that stomach can hold. In the given study, this surgery can be done to reduce the excess fat which patient had gained in the last 2-3 years. The surgery provides help him in secondary manifestations related to obesity.

Presently Mr. C is diagnosed with peptic ulcer disease. Peptic ulcer disease involves erosion and formation of sores on the inner lining of duodenum developed primarily because of aggressive factors (H. Pylori, excess acid secretion etc.) present in gastrointestinal tract. Physician prescribed, Mylanta, Zantac and Sucralfate for the management of peptic ulcer disease.
