You want to compare the daily sales for two different designs of Web pages for your internet business.  You assign the next 62 days to either Design A or Design B, 31 days each.   The summary statistics for the test are shown in part (d) on the next page.   Suppose Design A is the current design and Design B is a proposed new design.  The hypothesis is that Design B is superior to Design A.

a)      Would you use a one-sided or two-sided test for this example.Why?

b)      State the null and alternative hypothesis corresponding to your answer for (a).

c)       What would the critical value be?  Use α = 0.05

d)      Suppose the following output is obtained from Excel.  Conduct the significance test corresponding to your answer to (b) above.  What is the result of the significance test?  SOLVE AND INTERPRET CLEARLY AND THOROUGHLY.
