One of the firm's lawyers has asked you to conduct research on behalf of a client. The client is the victim of a sexual assault and did not report the event to the police. The client wants to know if she can sue the offender, and if so, for what can she sue the offender? Can she make him go to jail? Your boss asked you to prepare a memo in response to her questions. 

Please write a memo of 2-4 pages responding to the following questions:

•Can the victim of a rape sue the offender? If so, what are the potential damages?
•Do the civil damages include the possibility of prison?
•What other options does the victim have?
•Provide real-life examples or court cases to support your reasoning.
