A pin-connected linkage bar is 16 in. long and is subjected to an axial compressive load of 4600 lb. The bar is made of a high-strength steel with a yield stress of 110,000 psi.

Compute the required dimensions of the bar if its cross section is to be rectangular with the width being twice the depth. Use the Euler-Johnson formulas with a factor of safety of 3.0.
