The University of Wollongong (UOW) is one of Australia’s most dynamic universities. With nine Faculties - Commerce, Informatics, Arts, Law, Science, Health and Behavioral Sciences, Engineering, Creative Arts and Education - a Graduate School of Medicine and a Graduate School of Business, UOW currently offers around 180 undergraduate, 160 postgraduate courses and 30 research degrees to more than 29,000 enrolments.

Its research is defined by five themes – Innovative Materials, Environmental Sustainability; Health and Medicine; Information Engineering and Manufacturing; and Mathematical Sciences; and Science, Policy and Culture. The research strengths of it include world-leading research centers in the 21st century technologies like intelligent materials, medical radiation physics, nanotechnology, superconductivity, intelligent materials, and transnational crime prevention.
The UOW’s Strategic research priority areas and emerging strengths are the Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute (IHMRI); the Smart Infrastructure Research Facility (SMART) and Australian Institute for Innovative Materials (AIIM).
The University’s Innovation Campus (iC), an award winning research and development precinct, is on a 22-hectare beachside site in Wollongong designed to give innovative companies and organizations the opportunity to locate alongside and collaborate with its leading research institutes, is attracting corporations from Australia and overseas.
UOW has a strong international focus and reputation, and brings attention of nearly close to 5,800 international students each year to study at its Australian campuses. It operates the University of Wollongong in Dubai also in the United Arab Emirates, where more than 3,200 students takes undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.
The University has two satellite campuses in the Sydney (in CBD and at Loftus in the southern suburbs), as well as the campuses at Nowra, Batemans Bay and Bega on NSW South Coast, and at Moss Vale on the Southern Highlands.
