The University of Adelaide is Australia’s third-oldest university, established in the year 1874. It numbers three Nobel Laureates among its graduates, and other two among past and present faculty. It has produced 104 Rhodes Scholars and 104 Fulbright Fellows.

The University has key research strengths in the molecular biosciences agricultural sciences; physical sciences; engineering, health sciences; and biotechnology; information technology and telecommunications; environmental sciences and management; and social sciences. It has in recent time’s established five major research institutes, bringing together above 1000 scientists and research students to tackle national and international research priorities.
The main campus is in North Terrace. Located in the CBD of Adelaide, it is close to the Ar t Gallery, State Library, Museum, Botanic Gardens and Royal Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide Festival Centre, Zoo, as well as major shopping precincts. It is the main location of undergraduate teaching and the base for a broad range of research. It also includes the close National Wine Centre also. In the year 2010 the University opened$100 million engineering, computer science building, and maths the first to be awarded as the 6 Star Green Star rating for an education building by the Green Building Council of Australia. A innovative student learning space, opened in the year 2011, Hub Central, has revolutionized the on-campus student experience bringing learning and social spaces together - right in the hear t of North Terrace Campus.
Waite Campus is home to the most powerful agricultural research and teaching cluster in the southern hemisphere. Campus partners comprise the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI), Primary Industries and Resources SA (PIRSA), Australian Wine Research Institute (AWRI), divisions of the Commonwealth Scientific and the Plant Accelerator the Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), Australian Centre for the Plant Functional Genomics, the Wine Innovation Cluster, and the new ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Cell Wall Biology.
Rosewor thy Campus, north of Adelaide, is the house of teaching and research in animal and veterinary science. Campus partners are SARDI, PIRSA, and the Pig and the Poultry Production Institute. It is house to the Pork Cooperative Research Centre and to the South Australia’s first Vet School.
The bar ton Campus is a technology/research park, here the graduates develop their skills with several innovative companies in the industry-linked Graduate Entrepreneurial Programs. The University also provides a range of programs in Singapore through the Ngee Ann-Adelaide Education Centre, having partnership with the Ngee Ann Kongsi.
