The duties of a CorrectionsPsychologist deals in assessment, intervention of crisis, training of staff, administration ofstaff, to group and staff therapy mostly with crime involved people. The officers always workas a collaborative part of team, they work with case workers, from attorneys to staff membersof correctional facility basically to modify or eliminate disruptive and dangerous behavior ofinmates. They work to create to a safer environment and safe work practices for inmates andstaff members with few or many correctional settings. Corrections Psychologists play a majorrole in virtue of mental health settings (Gudjonsson, 1992). The main task they are expected to do is to provide mental health treatment tocustodians in prisons, jails and various other settings. Their prime responsibility also includesrehabilitation, aiding the custodians or victims to transform from the prisons back to theworld. The main job a Corrections Psychologist is responsible for is to formulate acounselling plan once the treatment has been formulated. Forensic psychologists face manyethical challenges which may or may not be specific to their field. Due to working in a prisonsetting they are called upon roles that may be challenging to the American PsychologicalAssociation's (APA) Code of Ethics and General Principles. At times forensic psychologisthas to work both as psychologist and correctional worker and worse is when they are put inmultiple relations (Tanner, 2016). Corrections Psychologistworking in area that is havingshortage of forensic practitioners may face a lot of ethical issues, especially when working asboth clinicians and forensic evaluators within a very smaller system. These issues cantackleby following certain work practices. Misuse of Psychologists’ work should not be FORENSIC ANALYSIS8permitted. If they learn of any such activities, they should take reasonable steps to minimizeor misuse or misrepresentation. Improper complaints should not be filed or encouraged.Unfair discrimination against complaints and respondents should be avoided ("Guidelines onmulticultural education, training, research, practice, and organizational change forPsychologists.”, 2013).FORENSIC ANALYSIS9Ethical Challenges in Forensic PopulationThe forensic population a crime scene investigator could be a part of may be forensicpsychologist, criminal judge, clinic researcher, detective, and trial consultants. Ethicalchallenges related to dual-roles in the profession of a forensic psychologist could be thefollowing-? Unfair discrimination- when in dual roles the interaction of a forensic psychologist isobviously more and he is prone to unfair discriminations which may be based onparameters such as origin, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, disability or it could bedue to irregular socioeconomic status. Proper training and education of psychologistsplays an important role in addressing these kinds of issues.? Sexual harassment- sexual harassment could be sexual solicitation, physical advances, orverbal or non-verbal disputes or conduct that is sexual in nature that occurs in connectionto psychologist or his roles which is either unwelcome, offensive, or creates a hostileworkplace or creates a hostile workplace or environment. It can consist of single severeact or multiple severe acts. Awareness and education from the very ground level of thetraining can tend to reduce such events. ? Delegation of work to others- psychologists who delegate work to their employees,supervisors, or research or teaching assistants or using the services of others. This wouldprobably lead to multiple relationships and consequently leading to the loss orexploitation of objectivity of the project. A proper hierarchy of work distribution andreporting improper delegation of work can challenge such cases. ? Providing services in emergencies- dual roles while at service lead to decrease inefficiency of delivering the job in the situation of an emergency. Thus proper division ofpower or responsibility plays a vital role in reducing ethical challenges in forensic "
