"purpose of the project, as per my understanding is laid within this ambiguity whichhas helped to understand a particular topic from different approaches and thus tomake necessary and required arguments based upon my own understanding beingbacked by scholarly critics. I felt that there was no requirement of a group activity during the initial phases butduring the entire period, was able to recognize its importance. The developmentprocess started with learning the basic concepts and I believe it accomplished withlearning the art of critical evaluation and hence producing results. As Hager andButler (1994) has regarded the change in assessment hypothesis takes place whenthe scientific dimension transits to judgemental consideration. The marketing plans were changing on subsequent basis as every article providedsome additional information and hence increased level of ambiguity. The diary entrywas becoming a problematic situation as there were too many points that requiredattention within a limited time period. However, an improved time management is theadded benefit from the overall process. However, due to low morale and lack ofspirit, I found it difficult to get into the flow. As the time passed by, the level offrustration was replaced by enthusiastic behaviour as I recognized that the more Iwill run away from the work the more tough it would likely to become. Hence, Istarted to read and collect the relevant material using various journals, websites,newspaper etc and made some notes in order for better understanding. The notescertainly helped me to make a well laid plan with which I started to pursue with mywork. However, despite of the group meetings, there were still a few elements that Ishould have taken some suggestion from the tutors. The reason could be my casualattitude during the induction week. The overall effort has led to perceive the potentialknowledge on the basis of personal knowing and understanding. For instance, duringthe process, a number of ideas were developing in my mind and can be regarded asthe result of the overall learning process. 55 PERSONAL FEELINGS AND LEARNING Possessing a dominating and initiating nature is sometimes not very fruitful. I havealways felt that one or two group members usually create some sort of trouble evenduring the initial stages. The group formation became a difficult task due tounwillingness of the group members to work with a few persons who wanted to workin the same group. However, I was able to convince the group members andtherefore initiated a proposal to work amongst 10 members. But again the group wasdivided in two groups each consisting of 5 members. The group work started with afew misconceptions and a few arguments but I have experienced it to take placewhen a group is involved in a project. The overall project was a difficult task and I faced some problems in understandingthe basic essence of the work. I tried to grasp the basic meaning of new productdevelopment process in tandem which made me believe that I am reaching theconclusion in a quick manner. However, the very next moment some extra aspectschanged my mind to devote more time to the reading. While reading, some ideaswere developing in my mind and I was estimating the time period that will take tofinish with the project. It took me around 10 days to only go through various articlesand to note down basic points which served as a guide to the marketing plan. Duringthe first 10 days I realized a new habit of reading more and more. For instance, anyparticular aspect, if unclear led to browsing of some more articles and hence someadditional information as well. For example, I was trying to find the role of Internet inthe process and discovered the role of Internet in the service industry as well as therole of employees in the process. Another instance of enhanced learning was theinformation about the big brands like Apple, Google, and 3M etc. However, it wasdifficult to identify about which articles and what aspects needs to be focussed upon.56 The provided articles were a great help but led to search of more information in therespected fields. As argued by one of the tutors, as easier a topic sounds the more difficult it is inreality. The topic required a vast knowledge and detailed study in order to concludethe desired objectives. Various questions were arising regarding the process, themethodology, the approach, the ideas, ways to improve, and how to fulfil theobjective. The group discussions have helped me to clarify on various uncertaintiesthat could have brought me to a different conclusion. By making a clear and explicitmeans of assessment, I felt a high level of motivation and responsibility towards thereflective wisdom process. Being the coordinator of the group, various tasks were provided to different groupmembers in order to come up with various problems and questions. However, a mixof personal and professional problems can affect the group as well as individualactivity. I was going through a tough phase of my life due to some family issueswhich did affect my individual report as well as the group had to suffer. Anothergroup member had the same issues which led to a quarrel between the groupmembers. However, I tried to seek out the two aspects separately but the twodoesn’t co-exist in the enviable manner. (Jon Herr, 2008; January 26) The learningaspect requires assessing the social reality in practical by influencing the situationthrough self-guidance of the activities.(Kolb, 1984) I tried to divert my mind byspending more time with the group and library. If I could not had have kept a controlon myself, the things could have created a negative impact on the group as well asmy individual work. But things could have been better by an effective coordinationand support from group members. At the same time, I could not find out theirpersonal issues and hence cannot blame them for not coordinating well. These timestest the individuals` assessment ability; a well directed and controlled mind help inachievement of the learning objectives. I have felt that there was a need of additionalsupport of the tutors during the project work as some queries were not resolved inthe group members. However, things worked out in the desired manner but notcompletely. The remaining portion where things went in the opposite direction, as Ibelieve, helped me to distinguish between success and failure. 57 "
