This company creates project labour agreement which use standardizationefficiency to help private and public organizations with their projects. Furthermore, commissioning is atechnical activity in Hill International. It makes sure that all of the system and equipment’s on the projects isoperating properly. In addition, estimating and cost management is provided in this industry. Theengineering staffs prepare cost estimates for projects according to the client’s protocols.CHAPTER 2The first week of the training period was primarilyan introduction about the company. It was also anintroduction about the various projects that the Al-Madar office for Engineering Consultancy is supervised.Some of these projects are in Al-Duqm and the projects are: …………….. During the first week, I got tomeet the different engineers at the office who are supervising the various projects. The Supervisor Ali AL- Amri taught me about the occupational health, safety and environment. The following technical skills arelearned: 2.1 Occupational Health, Safety and EnvironmentThis is very important aspect for the development of the countries economic. And it is one of thebasic for sustainable development. The type of work and the work environment which and unsafecause various health risks. The proper work and the workers who follow the health and safety workincrease the quality of the work and the production. Occupational health and safety rules aim tomaintain workers' health through the prevention of occupational accidents, diseases and the risksand occupational conditions. Maintain the health and safety at work, developing and promotingworking in good environment, letting the workers have a good social life and providing the propersupport to work in health environment reduces the work accidents and safe the workers life. There are various basic health and safety rules, such as:1. Wearing personal protective equipment which areimportant equipment to protect the userfrom any work hazards, including: safety helmet, safety glasses, safety shoes, and jacket. Allequipment was provided during the visits to any site. 2. Provision of equipment to facilitate the work processes such as: communications, controldevices and public safety equipment. 3. Provide daily reports about every situation while repairing any defect.2.2 Professional risks in construction sites These risks are harmful or hazardous to the work environment. And it affects person's ability to workand may cause injuries or illnesses related to work. Many workers in various professionals areexposed to these risks and cause them occupational injuries and diseases. Professional risks are divided into:1. Chemical hazards such as exposure to chemicals of different types.2. Physical hazards such as exposure to noise and heat.3. Biological hazards such as exposure to bacteria, viruses and fungi.4. Psychological hazards such as exposure to stress.2.3 Preparation of project proceduresEng. Ali Al Ameri has introduced the necessary procedures for the project which includes: preparingthe project documents, roles, responsibilities and appropriate policies before implementing theprojects and procedures. These project procedures include: 1. Control procedures.2. Inspection procedures. 3. Meeting proceedings.4. Reporting nonconformity procedures.2.4 Attending a meeting about the projectA meeting was held to discuss the progress of the work between the engineers and contractors.One of the main objectives of this meeting was to know the progress of the project and follow up thenecessary procedures and some correction. This meeting improves critical thinking and developscommunication skills "
