ASSESSMENT: Interview and Reflection
Task: Interview an Educational Leader/Placement Mentor about STREAM curriculum and reflect critically on their practices. Compare finding with current research and identify implications for leadership in curriculum design. Explicitly link to EYLF and ACECQA Standards.
References: Minimum 6 academic references/sources
Description: Contact the Educational Leader or Early Childhood Mentor Teacher at the early childhood service where you are completing your placement or in any other early childhood service (if you are not currently on placement) and request an interview (either face-to-face or online). Please ensure you provide them with your set of interview questions in advance to allow for adequate preparation.
Interview Focus Areas
During the interview, you are required to explore the following topics:
• STREAM Integration - Can you share an example of a successful learning experience offered at the service that integrates two or more STREAM topics? No AI shortcuts — Only authentic assignment help from real expert tutors.
• Planning and Programming - What is the service's approach to planning and programming?
• Child-Centred Curriculum - What strategies are implemented to support a child-centred curriculum?
• Pedagogical Approaches - What pedagogies were employed in delivering the experience?
• Family and Community Engagement - How were families and/or the community consulted and engaged in this learning experience?
Note: You do not need to submit a copy of the interview questionnaire.
Critical Reflection
Following your interview, write a critical reflection supported by literature and research. Your reflection should address the following:
• STREAM Integration - Analyse how the learning experience successfully integrated at least two STREAM topics into the curriculum. Were there any limitations?
• Extension Possibilities - Consider how the learning experience could be extended to incorporate an additional STREAM topic. Justify your suggestion using curriculum knowledge and pedagogical reasoning.
• Strengths and Challenges - Critically evaluate the strengths and potential weaknesses of the learning experience described by the Educational Leader or EC Placement Mentor. Your analysis should be supported by relevant academic literature and research, demonstrating how these factors impact children's learning and engagement.
• Links to EYLF and Literature - Explain how the experience aligns with the principles and outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and how it connects with current research and literature.

Link to EYLF outcomes. Discuss not list. Compare practice with research. Minimum 6 sources.
Conclusion (150-200 words)
Summarise key insights. No new info. Re-emphasise STREAM, strengths, and alignment.
