Question

This is a healthy 21-year-old female who presents today for removal of an impacted molar, lower left side. The panoramic radiograph shows the tooth to be in a good position now, but due to the pain it is causing the patient and the slight movement of the existing teeth, surgical intervention is needed to get the tooth out before any further movement can occur. PROCEDURE: The patient was given Versed and conscious sedation was achieved. The lower jaw area was also injected with 2% Lidocaine. The gingiva was removed from the surface with an elevator. A #15 blade was used to incise the gum line. The soft tissue was dissected to expose the impacted tooth and the tooth was removed in whole. The area was then rinsed and all debris removed before two sutures were placed with 4-0 silk. The patient was in good condition when returned to the recovery suite. ICD-10-PCS Code Assignment:
