Washington University in St. Louis is situated in a city which offers professional sports in, baseball, football and hockey in addition to a wide range of choices for dining and entertainment. The Wash U Bears are the active members of the NCAA Division III University Athletic Association. The freshmen of outside the St. Louis area are to live on campus in residence houses. After the freshmen year, students have option to live in suite-style housing, fraternity houses, or off-campus apartments and homes, on-campus apartments. About 30 percent of students are affiliated with Greek life at Wash U.

Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum on the Wash U’s campus houses one of the most distinguished university collections in the country, which includes works from Pablo Picasso and Jackson Pollock. Wash U’s Barnes-Jewish Hospital is one of the highest ranked hospitals in the country. The famous Actor Peter Sarsgaard graduated from Wash U, also the former FBI Director William H. Webster.
