Outside the classroom and research lab, students can get involved with the over 350 campus organizations, including around 35 fraternities and sororities. Student athletes can find sports at the club, recreational, and varsity level, with the CSU mascot and colors reflecting the school’s past. It began as an agricultural school, and so the sports teams were called as the Aggies, which were green and gold in color to represent farming. The school held onto the colors; however the over 15 varsity sports teams are now known as the Rams, which take part in the NCAA Division I Mountain West Conference.
