The College of William and Mary is second oldest college in the country. This Unversity was founded by King William III and Queen Mary II of England. School’s NCAA Division I varsity sports teams, called as the "Tribe," takes part in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Students are caught up with Phi Beta Kappa fraternity, which is the nation’s first academic Greek society, in addition to other fraternities and sororities on campus. The freshmen are to live on campus and the majority of the upperclassmen live on campus as well. The school is situated in historic downtown Williamsburg, Va. In contrast to the old-timey feel, the college is one of the Intel’s "50 Most Unwired College Campuses" for its campus wide wireless network.
The school has over 30 undergraduate programs and ten graduate programs and professional degree programs. The top ranked graduate schools of it include the Marshall Wythe School of Law, the Mason School of Business and the School of Education. William and Mary was the first school to create a student honor code, and the Marshall-Wythe School of Law is nation’s first law school. The school is steeped in traditions also, including the ringing of the Wren bell by graduating the seniors in Sir Christopher Wren Building, one of the oldest colleges building in the nation. Distinguished alumni include the three U.S. presidents—James Monroe, John Tyler and Thomas Jefferson as well as actress Glenn Close, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, and comedians Jon Stewart and Patton Oswalt.
