History
•First incorporated as the London Institute in the year 1989, University of the Arts London was formally inaugurated in the month of May in the year 2004.
Location and transport
•On the 14 sites across London, from Oxford Street in the center of the West End, to Archway and Hackney in north and east, and leafy streets of Wimbledon and historic Southwark in south of the capital. The Central Saint Martin’s College of Arts and Design moved to a state-of-the-art campus in King's Crossin in the year 2011.
Entry standards
•The University's recruitment is by one-year foundation courses mostly.
•A-Level and GCSE requirements vary – the entry requirements are according to course.
Research standards
•Over 50% of the University' s research submission was rated as world- internationally excellent in 2008 Research Assessment Exercise, with around 77.5% recognized as internationally significant.
Academic strengths
•Learning is characterized by being creative, practice-based, and strongly linked with industry and creative arts.
•The University is unique in providing strong links with creative industries by employing practicing professionals as associate lecturers, several being leading practitioners in their departments.
Student facilities, including library and computing
•Six libraries, with more than 470,000titles, 15,000 journals and periodicals comprising 7,700e-journals, 25,000 videos and DVDs, around 175 databases and nearly 885 electronic books.
