History
•The University's modern roots lie in Sunderland Technical College which opened in the year 1901.
•The University celebrated a centenary of teacher education in the year 2008, 150 years of art and design in the year 2010, and 90 years of pharmacy in Sunderland in the year 2011, and in 2012 celebrates its 20th year as a university.

•The University has two campuses, one in the city centre and another multi-million pound award-winning riverside.
