History
•Bucks New University is established as the principal provider of university education in the Buckinghamshire.
•Awarded full university status in the year 2007, with a history which dates back to 1893.
Location and transport
•The University is situated around half way between London and Oxford, High Wycombe is second largest town in the Buckinghamshire.
•The University is made up of the two campuses, one in High Wycombe and one in the Uxbridge.
Entry standards
•Most courses need a UCAS point’s tariff of in between 200 and 240 with maths and English at the grade C or above.
•The exception to this is Law which requires a points score of 300–340
•Student mix
•The ratio of male and female is 58:42
Teaching standards
•Bucks is a new generation university that is always open to fresh ideas and thinking. The University aim to provide our students with an innovative, supportive and dynamic culture.
•The university has developed a large number of courses through its industry contacts, so that students are well prepared for the world of work when they graduate.
Academic strengths
•The Faculty of Design, Media & Management includes a broad range of subjects such as music management and production, arts and media, fine art, furniture, accounting and finance, computing, network management, business and sports management and enterprise.
Sport
•Teams from Bucks compete in fixtures organised by either the Southern England Students' Sport Association or British Universities & Colleges Sport.
