Professor of Mathematics Education

 

My name is Anne Sharp. I had got an opportunity to be among the first scholars to research on the development of teacher-educators, from both perspectives i.e. theoretical and practical. Within this wide research area, I had identified and conceptualized the nature of productive mathematics-related jobs and illustrations. I had received a conceptual structure that accounts for teachers' choice and utilization of illustrations as part of their craft information. Other than various publications in leading journals and books in the field, my contributions involves a special triple-issue of JMTE (Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education) named 'The Role and Nature of Mathematics-Related Tasks for Teacher Education'. I worked as an associate editor of JMTE. I got my doctorate from the Technion, Haifa at Israel Institute of Technology in 1987, to where I again returned as a faculty member after two years as post doctorate member at LRDC, University of Pittsburgh.
