Compression Strength
Compression test is frequently performed upon materials. The compression test on ductile material reveals little as no failure is acquired. Brittle material in compression displayed specific fracture failure; failing along with a plane making an angel greater than 450 with horizontal plane on that compressive load is applied. The load at which fracture happens divided by area of X-section is called compressive strength. For brittle material the stress-strain curves are similar in tension and compression and for such brittle materials like CI and concrete modules of elasticity in compression are slightly higher than that in tension.
