Design and Modelling of Manufacturing Systems
Artificial neural networks are particularly helpful for modelling systems that underlying properties are more complex, more obscure, and more costly or more time consuming to be modelled analytically by utilizing traditional modelling methods. The employ of neural networks for designing and modelling manufacturing systems comprises manufacturing product design storage, decision making, and retrieval in group technology, and configuration of machine cells and part families for the design of cellular manufacturing systems.
