Resistors:

Resistors are made of materials which conduct electricity, but offer opposition to current flow. Those categories of materials are also known as semiconductors since they are neither good conductors nor good insulators. A Semiconductor has more than one or two electrons in their valence shells, other than less than eight or seven. Instances of semiconductors are silicon, carbon, tin, germanium and lead.  Every has four valence electrons.
