how can u call off the potential energy of an object when the world is full of refrences and the world itself is relative?

what would be the potential energy for a object lying in common atmosphere of two planets(supposing) when they both apply "g"(acceleration ) and the object lies in both their atmosphere ''s so that g cant be neglected. now if the object is at diff height from the planets would u calculate the average potential energy
