Q. What is mitral stenosis?
Most common cause of mitral stenosis is rheumatic fever. Nearly 30 per cent of patients with rheumatic fever may go on to develop pure mitral valve disease while 50 per cent of mitral stenosis patients may not be able to recall any history of rheumatic fever.
