Q. What do you mean by Solids Non-Fat?

Solid non-fat is an important criterion of milk selection for further processing. Milk solids non-fat would include the nitrogenous substances, milk sugar and mineral matter.

The determination of solid non-fat is done by taking lactometer reading at 40°C. The method is fully explained in experiment 4 of this practical. You shall be applying this procedure to determine the SNF of a given sample of milk.
