In this  chopper average output  voltage  is greater than  input  voltage. The circuit  different  mode  of operation and  current  waveforms are show.

When  chopper  is on  current flows  through  L and Switch  sw. In Ton  period  inductor L stores energy and polarity of inductance voltage shown in figure.
