Research to Improve Health Care Delivery:

Today, much  of health  care  delivery  system remains  imitative  and intuitive rather than innovative,  creative or  scientific in nature. But, no  health care provider can  contique  to provide quality  care exclusive of research. Research findings contribute  to health practice  by making  it more  efficient  as well  as cost-effective. Research in health practice  is concerned with problems  of planning, management,  logistics  and delivery  of health  care  services. Here the research aims at  assessing the  efl'ectiveness  of practice in terms  of meeting  the  goals. Therefore, there  is a need  to  improve  the  efficiency of the  ex:lsting health services  by making  it most economical within the resources available. Further, the health planners need  to make data based decision on policy matters,  such as health  care priorities, use  of alternative methods, identifying and correcting  the defects in  the  existing system.
