- Tell about yourself to the counsellee, purpose of your meeting and length of stay.

- Start talking.

- Try to build confidence and interpersonal relationship.

- Ensure to the counsellee that confidentiality will be maintained, information will be shared for the treatment with the doctor with the consent of the counsellee.
