  1. It consists of methylated galacturonic acid, galactose & arabinose.
  2. It is also called plant cement becuase it binds layers of cell wall.
  3. It is a structural polysaccharide.
  4. It occurs in cell wall.
  5. Calcium pectate is found in middle lamella.
